UConn GPS | Getting Prepared for Success
Individualized College Transition Program
UConn GPS provides you, as a first year or transfer student, an opportunity to learn what it takes to be a successful student at UConn. Move to campus early to participate in workshops and activities that provide holistic preparation with focus on academic success, knowledge of campus resources, health and wellness, and social involvement.
Goals of UConn GPS
- Increase awareness of disability services and campus resources.
- Become an independent, engaged and efficient learner.
- Develop connections with other incoming students.
- Discover campus involvement opportunities.
- Gain familiarity with the UConn campus.
Participating in UConn GPS
Any incoming first-year or transfer student with a disability enrolled at the University is eligible to participate in UConn GPS. Due to the individualized nature of this program, space is limited. Students are encouraged to enroll early.
Program Cost
The program fee for Summer 2024 was $800. The fee for Summer 2025 is TBD. Updates will be available in February. Please contact us at csdbeyondaccess@uconn.edu to discuss options for financing.
Summer 2025 Program
The Summer 2025 program will be held the week of August 18, 2025. Specific program dates are TBD pending information from Residential Life. Please check back or contact us via email with questions.
Enrolling in UConn GPS
Please complete the UConn GPS Enrollment form to participate in the program. A UConn GPS representative will contact you to confirm your enrollment and explain the next steps. Paper applications are also available at the Center for Students with Disabilities (Wilbur Cross Building, Room 204).
The deadline to enroll in UConn GPS is July 30, 2025.
